Darren will be presenting at the 2009 YAPA Youth Work Conference on Friday where over 100 youth sector representatives from all over NSW come together to tackle rural, regional and metropolitan youth and youth work issues. See the program for more details. http://yapa.org.au/yapa/events/conference/index.php
Admission to the Supreme Court of NSW was approved by the Legal Profession Admission Board on 4 August 2009.
Following the admission ceremony, I will sign the Roll and Oath/Affirmation.
On the 22 June 2009 there will be a NSW Parliamentary inquiry into bullying of children and young people at the Jubilee Room, New South Wales Parliament, Macquarie Street, Sydney.
Bullying can lead to depression and suicide. If left unchecked, bullying is an issue which is going to explode.
It's something that will be carried on well into adult life by the victims and the bullies. It has widespread consequences for those who are targeted and their families.

The inquiry will take place on Monday 22 June 2009, 10:15 to 17:00
Venue: Jubilee Room, New South Wales Parliament, Macquarie Street, Sydney
Thank you everyone for all your support and assistance for the By-Election held on the 30 May 2009. Although this was not enough to get over the line, we had a great result, polling second at both booths in Wahroonga. I also take this time to congratulate Duncan McDonald on his win.
The community deserves fresh representation and enthusiasm. I will continue to support the community in as many ways as possible.
Please use the contact page for any inquires and I will be sure to get back to you shortly.
Thank you and see you again soon,

Darren Bark
Dear fellow resident,
As a lifetime resident of Ku-ring-gai, I am passionate about our area and have been involved in local community organisations over the years, including more recently as a judge for the 2009 Lions Youth of the Year award, involving our local schools. I am also a member of both the Faculty Board in Law and Academic Board at the only university located in Ku-ring-gai – the University of Technology, Sydney.
I am standing for election in the Ku-ring-gai Council by-election for the Wahroonga Ward on Saturday 30 May 2009. Council should be a place where Councillors work together and collaboratively with the community to ensure that as residents, we are supported, respected and given a voice in decisions that impact us.
It's time for new ideas, innovative policies and proactive solutions on issues that impact our lifestyle and the character of Wahroonga, Turramurra, Warrawee and Pymble.
As your local Councillor I will:
- Protect Ku-ring-gai’s housing and heritage, by advocating for appropriate architecture that blends new buildings (medium density) and units into the character of Ku-ring-gai when the State Government forces such buildings to be built;
- Support a full review of traffic, roads and footpaths;
- Fight for a common sense approach to local facilities and infrastructure, including guttering and kerbing of streets, fixing broken footpaths in a timely manner and ensuring there is adequate seating in our local parks;
- Support the recreational and fair use of Bannockburn Oval for residents and local sporting groups;
- Work to improve overall traffic problems including Bobbin Head Road and congestion on Burns Road; and
- Advocate for better public transport for Wahroonga Ward residents, by encouraging communication and open dialogue with the State Government.
Wahroonga, Turramurra, Warrawee and Pymble residents deserve a candidate who brings fresh representation and enthusiasm. As your local representative I offer my dedication and expertise to work as hard as I can for you.
I ask for your support so that I can bring proactive solutions and fresh representation to Ku-ring-gai Council.
Please Vote 1 Darren Bark on May 30.
